HP Notebook PCs - Using QuickPlay
 This document pertains to HP Notebook PCs with QuickPlay.
HP QuickPlay features quick access to your entertainment. Watch a DVD or TV, listen to music, view photos or video, play games, or watch yourself singing along to your favorite songs with the Karaoke feature and optional HP Webcam. Use the HP command console or the media center remote to bring it all to life with the touch of a button.

Accessing QuickPlay while in Windows
Press the QuickPlay button to start QuickPlay

Alternately, click Start
, type quickplay
into the search field, and then select QuickPlay
from the list.

When QuickPlay opens, the following screen displays. To access the different functions, click the appropriate control panel icon.

The QuickPlay control panel icons are as follows:

1 - DVD - Plays DVDs
2 - Media Library - Manages playlists, media library, view documents, pictures, listen to internet radio, use the webcam
3 - TV - Access to TV programs
4 - Games - Play Microsoft and HP games and load and play other games
5 - Karaoke - Plays karaoke CDs
QuickPlay updates and enhancements
To update software and avoid potential problems, click any of the icons on the control panel. Then select the Gear

button in the upper-right corner to open the Info/More
settings screen that contains the Update
menu. Click Update
, and then follow the on-screen instructions.

QuickPlay updates
If QuickPlay does not find any channels while scanning for TV channels, please download and install the QuickPlay web update version 3.7.6, revision A (SP43325) to resolve the issue.

You must have a TV tuner to view TV using QuickPlay. |
Accessing QuickPlay Help
QuickPlay contains built-in help files. Perform the following steps to access the help files:
From Windows:
Click Start
, type quickplay
into the search field, and then select QuickPlay
from the list.
Click ?
in the upper-right corner of the screen to open the help files.
